Passive voice is a voice that indicates that the subject is the patient or recipient of the action denoted by the verb.

Example (English)

Here is an example of a construction in passive voice:


The man was nudged by a passer-by.

The above example contrasts with the one below, which is in active voice:


A passer-by nudged the man.

Passive voice is a form of sentence that the receiver of an action is mainly focused on.
Generally, we use an active voice that focuses on the person or thing does the action.
Sometimes, we want to focus the object in a sentence or the receiver of the action of verb so we use the passive voice form in the sentence.

This is the form of passive voice
Subject + v. to be + V3 ( past participle)

This example below shows the comparison form of active voice and passive voice.
A ( stands for active voice)
P ( stands for passive voice)

Yai eats an apple. (A)
An apple is eaten by Yai (P)
You can see that apple ,the receiver of the action "eat", is changed to be the subject.
