Do you know the Thai dessert named Singapore? Why it named like that?

I read from the dessert book.
Truly, there is no ‘Singapore’ in Singapore country also.
The story occurred in Thai when the first restaurant named ‘Singapore Podchanakarn’
produced this kind of dessert about 50 years ago.
The owner didn’t create the name of it yet but the ‘Singapore’ name was from the name of the restaurant.
When people at that time invited friends to eat this kind of dessert they would say
‘Let’s go to eat….Singapore!’

I didn't know but I just searched for the information why we call Lodchong Singapore. The source I found said that the first restaurant which firstly made this dessert located in front of the Singapore Movie Theater on Yaowarat Road. There was a name for this dessert - Lodchong. People who tried this dessert from that restaurant loved it. So when they wanted to eat or recommend to other people, they just told others where the restaurant located which was in front of the Singapore Movie Theater. Then it became Lodchong Singapore.
