What is more important, English or Thai?

It depends on where you are at that time. If you are in Thailand, you speak Thai.
If you are abroad, you speak English.
You should not speak English when you are in Thai without English class, talking to foreigner or any seminar.
If you speak in English with your Thai friends in public, you will be unnatural for other people.

I think both languages are equally important as they are used as a tool to communicate. Thai is my first language and it is important when we speak to Thai people. English is a world wide language. We use it to communicate with people from other countries as a linked language because foreigners don't understand Thai so now it is important to know English. Any way both languages are equally important.

For the importance for Thai people, I think bot are important.
But for the importance to people who is English native speaker, Thai language is not much important to him.
It's because English is an international language which people around the world use for communicating.
For Thai people, we have Thai as our language; we all absolutely speak and know Thai well.
If we don't learn English and can speak only Thai, we can't communicate with people from any other countries.
Some Thai may think that we don't need to talk to people from other countries; we can talk to Thais and that's enough.
But if we can't speak English, we can lose some good chances.
