Why reading skill is considered to be the most difficult skill in teaching English?

For me, I think maybe it’s because of reading is the receptive skill when people read they just receive the information and try to understand it. In term of teaching students to understand is the teachers’ hardest work. In teaching reading skill teachers shouldn't only teach students to read as a pronouncing but they have to teach students to understand, to analyze and to criticize what they have read also.

For I myself considered writing as the the most difficult skill
because it need the correct structure on your works.
For this case, reading skill is considered to be the most difficult skill in teaching English
because Thai students have negative attitude to reading the text in English
and one word might have several meanings or different interpretations.
So, teacher has to create the new activities that relate to the interest of students.

Reading skill is the hardest skills of English language because it's a kind of we can't explain how to be the best in reading and practicing sometimes it can't change our reading skill, it's depends on individual. It's hard to make us be the same quality to be a good reader.

In my opinion, reading skill is considered to be the most difficult skill in teaching English because students feel bored when they have to read for academic purposes. So, it's hard for teacher to design or plan an interesting lesson that can improve their reading skill effectively.

Normolly, most of Thai students don't like reading both Thai and English books, this is the first problem.
The next is their problem of vocabulary. They don't know word's meaning. Although using dictionary can help them, they have to use grammar principle for translation also. Grammar is quite difficult to understand and the stuudents don't want to learn and read. This why teaching reading skill is difficult.

Some people consider reading to be the most difficult skill in teaching English for non- English speakers because readers especially EFL and ESL students don't have good knowledge of vocabulary to understand the text. So they find reading English to be difficult. Another reason, they perhaps don't like reading or find it boring. So they don't pay attention to learn to read. However, I think writing skill is the most difficult skill to teach to students since writing is needed a long process. It is needed a large knowledge of vocabulary and good comprehension and idea to convey, describe, or explain to readers to understand what you are writing about.

It might be that reading skill requires readers not only the English knowledge containing both vocabulary and structure, but also the idea or point of view to share with the others during the activity. The students are likely to learn mostly about vocab and grammar, but they have less chances to share their idea or think of something creative. English teaching style in Thailand seems to focus on teacher which we call "Teacher center". Finally, I think it will be good if we give students more chances to be familiar with how to think or solve the problem than to remember some information so that they will be a better reader and feel like reading is not so far to reach.

In reading for ESL/EFL students, sometimes it looks boring because some of them don’t like to read.
There're not many people like to read. When they don't like to read, they don't develop reading skill.
And reading skill is like the most difficult skill for them. But in fact, I don't think it's too hard.
Everyone can improve reading skill to be better. Just practice, because practice makes perfect.
If I am an English teacher, I have to motivate them to read; read with pleasure by creating the activities to teach in the class.

From what I have read, Writing skill is the most difficult skill to teach student.
Before student is able to write, they have to acquire in reading and listening well.

In my opinion, speaking skill is the most difficult skill in teaching English.
We have to know the grammar before we can speak.
Most of people are shy to speak wrong grammar or pronunciation.

Because reading requires knowing the meanings of the symbols. You have to look at the symbols and then interpret it. Your brain have to work quite a lot.
