As I Know.. it isn't true.
Kanom-Jeen or Chinese noodle, it is a smooth noodle made from flour and you can eat with the several of soups.
It's very popular in Thai because it’s delicious and the price is reasonable.
In fact, there are no Kanom-Jeen or Chinese noodles in China. You can ask Chinese people if you want.
And even though we are Thais but there are just only the small groups of people who know that why we called this dish the Chinese noodle. For me, I was told by my history professor that this special food was from the ‘Morn’ tribe. About 200 years ago, they emigrated from Myanmar to settle down in Thailand and they brought this kind of food with them too. According to their dialect language the word ‘Kanom’ means a lump of rice flour and the word ‘Jeen’ means to be cooked. From that time on, Thais called it’s a Kanom-Jeen. And some of Thais misunderstand about the origin of it because in Thai the word ‘Jeen’ means China.

I don't think so. I heard that the name of this kind of noodle is from Mon. Then the pronunciation changed from time to time and becomes Kanom Jeen as we know now. I don't think this noodle appears in China. We, Thai, happened to have Kanom Jeen long time ago in the past. It is a good thing to eat with papaya salad though. I like it. Anyway wherever it comes from, I hope we all help promote this noodle to make it always in papaya salad or whatever.

No, It is not true.
I think it is just the name of this food.
It is the value of Thai people that like to call the things or food as the name of other countries in the world.
For example, Cookie Singapore, Tokyo snack , American fried rice etc.
I think Chinese noodle is included of this case.
