Yes, I always do that.
I will write my nane and also my phone number
because my favorite book got lost and I had to buy a new one.
So, I write my phone number so that someone can call
me and give back to me when it gets lost.

I do it once in a blue moon. I don't like write my name to the book or anything because I don't want it to be dirty.
However, I found that I usually lose somethings, and sometimes I can't know which mine is when I use it with my friends.
So I think it's good to write my name in somethings belong to me because it can show it's mine clearly.
When I lose it, I can find and prove it's mine which can protect robbery and confusing.
