In your opinion, Why Thais should protect the elephant?

Elephant is known as the symbol of Thailand. Once in a while the elephant used to be post in the Thai flag.
Elephant is smart and kindness animals. It is human best friends. It helps us do the hard work
such as carry the trunk. For Thai people, Elephant help our ancestors to fight in the war
of protecting our land. These are the good things that elephants have done to our country.
These why we should preserve and protect elephant.

It is an animal and has no gun to fight back to someone who wants to steal its life.
It is not fare to cut its ivory and kill the ivory's owner.
It is like when the hunter wants to take monkey from its parent for selling, the hunter has to kill monkey parents before taking its kid.
This is pretty bad but it is real.
We cannot blame only the hunter and the animal killer because if there is no the buyer there is no the killer.
This is a wrong social value of people in the high society. They want to have a rare item which costs very high to show off their financial status.

Elephant is the symbol of Thailand. Some people can see the shape of Thailand like a head of an elephant. It is sad to hear that human kill elephant for money. Not only in Thailand but also in Africa. Those peole only need the ivory for sell. If we don't do anything to help this kind of animal one day they will extinct. As we are Thai and we say that elephant is Thailand's symple, we must do something to protect them from mean men. I think the law should be more strict and should be stronger.

In Thailand. there are still those who are hunting elephants to the black market for selling the elephants' tusks which people seem to think that the tusks are the sacred object to make life better.
Moreover, the world knows that elephant is the symbol of Thailand but Thai people are the elephants' hunter themselves. Like other kinds of animals, killing for marketing or business should be punished by the law. Human kills other species to be the source of energy which is enough reason to kill other lives. But to kill other lives for personal entertainment or happiness seems not to be acceptable.

In my point of view, I think the reason why Thais should protect the elephant because elephant as th national animal of Thailand. It is a symbol of Thaland. You may see elephants walk along the street, and keepers invite you
to by food to feed them. I wonder why they don't feed those elephants
because they are own elephants. Some people kill elephant to
cut their sesames, because they have high price. Elephants get hurt and
die for human's benefits, this is not fair for them.
