If it's Thai, they can practice reading skill; skimming and scanning, and gain knowledge from it.

No, I don't agree. I am a child who is bad at reading. When I was young my mom never allowed me to read her novels. Since then I didn't practice reading when I was home. I have many friends who are good at reading. They all said because they spend time reading entertainment books made them good at reading. They have amazing reading skills. Honestly I envy them. I should have read the novels then I would have a good reading skill.
