Share some activities to develop students' writing skill...

My favorite writing activity that I have learnt in curriculum 2 class was ‘Rose & Thorn’.
It’s a communicative activity because its encouraged students to do the easy writing about
the things that challenge them in positive and negative way.
And this activity also supported students to have more confidence because they are allowed
to share their idea by reading their paper out loud.

In the argumentative writing class, the 1st semester of the 3rd year, Aj.Kokitboon used one activity which I really like it. He started by setting the first sentence, and let students create their own one sentence that can make the story then move the paper to the next persons to do the same until the en of the story comes. I don't know how to call this game, but from this one each students can improve the writing skill. Besides, they are resolved or corrected grammar by and to their friends for sure.

If teachers would like to know students' background about writing skill.
I would like to recommend that teachers give students to describe about themselves.
It's related to student's lives, so they can write the paragraph.
Then you will know the levels of students and you design your activities.
For example, mind map , poster, short paragraph.
I consider that writing is the difficult to practice, so you can divide the students
to work in groups. They can help each other first. Then teachers provide students to work
individual by writing essay or paragraph.

The nice activity is to write their own diary.

I think writing a diary is an activity that can develop students' writing skill.
To encourage students to writing something, we should start from what they want to write.
So diary is their daily lives writing which means they can write what they want and what they interest that related to they lives.
Furthermore, we can check their development clearly through they writing.

The writing activity shared by Aj.Alix is called Alphabets writing. For the direction, the teacher let the students write the first alphabets which are in their name followed by the adjective to describe themselves. I think this activity provides not only academic area to learn about adjective, but the students can learn to get to know more each other also. This activity takes time for a short time so that it is good to use this activity to motivate students to learn and enjoy to create their own description.

I would like to share writing activity is called Describing favorite hobby. It is a normal writing activity but it be able to develop students writing skill. I used this activity with my lovely students P.4 last month. My reason why I let them write favorite hobby because this topic is close to thier life. Students feel comfortable to write. Moreover, they are freedom to write. First, I teach the students on topic hobby. Then, I let them draw and describe their favorite hobbies. After that, students come to share thier work in front of class. As you see, students will not only practice writing skill but also speaking.

I would like to share "Keep a travel log" activity. When your students
on the road , whether travelling across the country or just to near distance,
have your students take along a notebook in which they can write down what
they see and do. They can take it on trips to the zoo or the beach, too.

The better way you can do is to find a good tutor to develop the writing skills( in an acquisition poor environment). study a good language course, make sure you have lots of practice in it. Sounds like a lot of hard work, but it's well worth it.

I would like to share the activity to develop writing skill. Here's the procedure how to use this activity. The learners are given the beginnings and endings of sentences and also a list of linking words. Then they must match each section to make sentence. Example; Do you want to drive, She failed the exam, I'll lend you the money, Tony worked hard all his life, we played golf. The next row will be linking words; as long as, and then, but, despite, or. And the last row will be sentences; working really hard, he was never rich, went to a bar, shall we go by train?, you don't tell Rachel.
