Is it good to let students read an horror story?

In my opinion, it’s appropriate for high school students to read horror books.
The horror stories motivate the readers to follow the story with critical thinking, the expectation and the feeling of exciting. The readers can evaluate themselves about how good or bad of the story is.
Moreover, a teacher can let the student think about the dark side of human and then lead it to the moral.
Students will gain insightful thoughts based on the story and scaffold idea from teacher as well.

Horror is just one kind of fiction.
They can read it if they want.

I think it good for high school level.
And we can use these chance to teach them about new vocabulary and high level of structure.
